Carbon fiber is a modern composite material that is very light yet extremely strong. It is used in
leading-edge technology, aerospace, and top-level sports equipment such as racing bikes, ultra-light tennis rackets
and Formula One cars.
The body of these new writing instruments is encased in braided strands of carbon fiber, bonded
with an epoxy resin. The name Carbon 3000 comes from the fact that each strand is composed of 3,000 carbon filaments.
All silver-plated metal parts of the Carbon 3000 Collection are coated with rhodium, a precious
metal, rarer than gold, which prevents oxidation. The curved steel clip, another typical Caran d'Ache feature, is
also silver-plated and rhodium-coated, in perfect harmony with the modern and sporty appeal of these writing
instruments.
