    Description

Lamy first introduced the Lamy 2000 flagship fountain pen in 1966. The Lamy 2000 pen is made of a combination of fiberglass and brushed stainless steel, also known as Makrolon. The Lamy 2000 fountain pen has a piston fill mechanism and as such uses only bottled ink (Lamy T 52), it does not take ink cartridges. You will be able to write for a long time with one fill due to its large capacity.

The Lamy 2000 is so revered that it is on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art and has won countless design awards.

Nib: 14K gold, platinum coated fine nib.

    Important Note about the Nib:

The Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen nib is less rounded at the tip than most other fountain pens and therefor a little more sensitive. "Scratchiness" of the Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen is in general related to the increase of pressure some writers tend to use in an attempt to compensate for over-rotation. It is not a Quality Control issue rather a matter of finding the "Sweet Spot" on the angle of rotation. If you rotate it a little too much to the right, the nib will skip or "hard start".
